CAROLINE DIAS PEREIRA
My name is Caroline Dias Pereira, I am born in Salvador-Ba, Brazil and I am a dancer, acrobat, model and Classical Pilates trainer.
I started theatre from an early age, when I was 11 years old and joined a theatre group who performed street theatre in Brasil, bringing awareness to drugs, sex and rights to the less privileged society.
I studied Dance at the University Federal of Bahia in Salvador, Ballet Folclorico da Bahia and other schools, before I moved to New York,
Amsterdam, München and continued my education in ballet, African dance, modern, Salsa, Jazz and other styles as well as my acrobatic skills as an fire dancer and even aerial silk performer. I studied at many well known schools, like Alvin Ailey and had a scholarship at the Dance Theatre of Harlem.
I have appeared on stage and TV in many shows and musicals all around the world, like Disney´s “The Lion King” and “Tarzan – The Musical”.
In more than 20 years of dance experience I have stayed healthy, in shape and injuries free, thanks to the amazing technique of Pilates.
I am a passionate person, eager to learn and love what I do.
The Pilates method has helped me to fulfil what I would say is my purpose here every day and moment, to see you smile, to know that you no longer have pain of any kind, that you are able to run that marathon you always wanted to, to swim that full laps, to bike to the top of the mountain, to feel good about your body without restrictions, to accomplish every single goal with this amazing instrument, the BODY that we have, and with the Pilates or so called Contrology-method you will take the full control of your dreams and reach your goals!

THE ART OF CONTROLOGY
Pilates is an amazing body work technique which focuses on the musculature and was created by the visionary Joseph H. Pilates (1883– 1967). Pilates was originally a gymnast, boxer and bodybuilder. He was born in Germany and started his career as an circus artist and boxer. As a child he was a weak and asthmatic small boy.That changed when he began to study eastern methods of training the mind and the body like Yoga and Zen, as well as ancient greek exercises and the movements of animals.
From this he created his own body work technique and started training himself. During world war I he helped injured soldiers in Britain to recover, while they where still lying in their beds. He simply used the beds as a fitness apparatus and taught slow, concentrated and self-aware movements.
Pilates’ way of breathing is described as a posterior lateral breathing, meaning that the practitioner is instructed to breathe deep into the back and sides of his or her rib cage. When practitioners exhale, they are instructed to note the engagement of their deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles and maintain this engagement as they inhale. Pilates attempts to properly coordinate this breathing with movement.
